They are 100% compostable and biodegradable. 

Palm leaf tableware is a fascinating range of biodegradable partyware, made using traditional techniques of manipulating and pressing naturally fallen palm leaves. These fallen leaves are collected and soaked in spring water before being heat pressed into shape and dried in the sun. This process is totally natural with no coatings or other additives applied at any point. So, right from the source to the production and finishing, palm leaf plates are completely natural.

Our palm leaf range is produced in India and bought through social enterprises to ensure good wages and working conditions for those involved. There is no deforestation involved and there is no link to the palm oil industry. India is a rapidly developing country but there are still many rural areas where poverty is rife and as we are committed to helping – whether it’s the environment or people – we choose these areas to trade with.
