Nuptial Nosh: Keep it Simple

Nuptial Nosh: Keep it Simple

It doesn’t matter if you have a formal three-course sit-down meal or a garden party for Afternoon Tea; your food will definitely be for thought, in order for you to make sure it suits the feel and flow of your wedding.

Of course, the regimented receptions that were once so popular are very much a thing of the past now, with brides and grooms being more flexible when it comes to every part of the wedding. No longer do blushing brides have to sport white, cream or ivory. Similarly, grooms are not constrained by the formalities and traditions that once were.

Ceremonies can take place anywhere, in a tiny chapel or underwater when swimming with dolphins. As such, flexibility and creativity have become two features very much associated with wedding receptions.

In some cases, this means wild and wacky ideas are brought to life, whilst in other circumstances, it means happy couples pull out all the stops for a lavish affair. When it comes to your nuptial nosh though, we find it is always best to keep it simple.

That is why we have come up with five easy ideas to keep your nuptial nosh low-key and simple, with a little help from Little Cherry’s range of handy but charming party ware. Read on for more information, or follow this link to view our product pages today.

Buffets

A great alternative to a formal sit-down meal, buffets offer your guests control over portion sizes and lots of food options; hot, cold, snacks, mains, and different cuisines. To keep the line moving and the washing up minimal, lay out some stacks of palm leaf plates, fill a few disposable cups with disposable cutlery, or leave a selection of tableware (plates, bowls, platters) on the table. This way, people can decide which receptacle they want to use.

Canapés

If your celebration isn’t based around a meal, canapés are a great way to keep tummies satisfied, with minimal hassle. We have a number of options in our palm leaf range, including a sweet heart-shaped plate and a fun egg-shaped plate, as well as charming wooden boats. So depending on your canapés and your personal preference, you have plenty of choice.

Skewers ‘n’ Picks

Keep the dining experience social and light-hearted with skewer-friendly snacks, displayed decoratively on palm leaf platters. You can either pre-skewer everything or you can let your guests take what they want from platters of fruits, cheeses, meats and snacks, using our decorative skewers and picks. A few disposable plates and compostable napkins will keep any crumbs and spillages at bay.

Intimate Picnics

If your wedding is an intimate affair, you will want to keep it that way during the reception, and throughout the meal. Picnics are not usually associated with weddings, but they are actually a fantastic, and unique way to enjoy your celebration. Whether you hunker down on blankets or sit at sweet garden tables, handing out a premade picnic to your guests will certainly make a fun statement. To keep things cost-friendly, convenient and green, you can use our biodegradable food containers and deli pots or even our fully disposable picnic boxes.

Hog Roasts and Barbecues

Hog roasts and barbecues have become popular food choices for events of all kinds in recent years. Not only are they tasty, but they are relaxed, and often become a topic of conversation for guests who are mingling amongst people they’ve never met before. Our egg-shaped partition plates are ideal for separating the pulled pork from the sides, and if you have sauces or particularly wet and greasy foods, our palm leaf bowls will work a treat. To add to the fun, why not invest in some of our disposable sporks too?

Of course, these five ideas are just our suggestions for keeping your nuptial nosh simple. There are lots of ideas and sources of inspiration out there, whether you check out foodie magazines and blogs or talk direct to your caterer. Just be sure to have a little imagination, and don’t feel like you have to go down the traditional sit-down dinner route on your big day.
