Sky lanterns create a beautiful display and are safer than fireworks. They are easy to light but the following safety points need to be considered: 2 adults are required to release each lantern; at least one to hold the lantern and one to hold it until the air heats up. Do not release them within 5 miles of airports, landing strips, coastline or farm land. Do not release in windy weather and keep clear of overhead lines. Keep children clear whilst lighting the lanterns and refer to the lighting instructions on the packaging for full information.
